About Me

My name is Janet Lyn.

When I write and when I sing, I feel like I'm doing what I was created to do.
I've always loved to write, for as long as I can remember.
I've always loved music, too,  and even my Mom's earliest reports seem to indicate that singing has always been one of the ways I express myself best. Singing continues to be one of the greatest joys of my life.
I've been blessed with a lot of joy in my life.
I have an amazingly awesome brother who is, without a doubt, the very best brother in the world. We've been through a lot together.
I have wonderful friends who have become like family to me. They are part of my heart and such an important part of my life.
I've also survived and endured a lot of loss and a lot of sorrow.
I've nearly lost my life several times. And I've lost a lot of people I love.
That's why I'm so passionate about sharing the power of hope.
Life is a gift. Hope is everything.
When I was 5 years old, I learned how valuable and how short life really is. I survived a horrific car wreck that killed my Mom, who was 26, and my first brother, who had just turned 2.
Most recently, I lost my only sister unexpectedly and very tragically, in the summer of 2008. She was one of the greatest joys in my life and losing her one of my greatest sorrows.
I have survived several other traumatic events in my life.
Through it all, I have learned that you can survive anything and if you refuse to give up --- no matter what --- you can endure and even learn to triumph over life's challenges, adversities and tragedies.
It's not easy. But it is possible.
I choose to use what I have been through to help other people. I believe it's so important to let others know they are not alone.
The power of love is not some cliche to me. The power of love is real and strong and can overcome anything in this life. The power of love is the story of my life.
I also believe we are all here to make a difference in this world and to help one another along the way.
One way I try to do that is by writing about life and about what I've been through to try and encourage someone else to keep the faith and hold onto hope.
My life is living proof that there is always hope. Always.
I pray you will find hope in the words I write and the songs I sing.
